QUEENS LIKE US SPEAK A DIFFERENT DIALECT

I miss my Chicana Feminist class. I miss going to listen to powerful women activists and studying women who made sure they were heard. I miss my wonderful professor who is a small looking fragile woman but very powerful activist and feminist.

dreamsister:

Nobody’s going to save you.
No one’s going to cut you down
cut the thorns thick around you.
No one’s going to storm
the castle walls
nor kiss awake your birth,
climb down your hair,
nor mount you onto the white steed.

There is no one who
will feed the yearning.
Face it. You will have
to do, do it yourself.

Dear Charles Taylor, I wish you a painful death. I wish you burn in hell. I wish for the souls of children you made soldiers destroy your mind. I wish you not a moment of peace as you spend the rest of your life in jail. I wish for the souls of all the women who were raped come at night to cry to you in pain. I wish you years of mental illness. Please, hear voices and talk to ghosts. I wish for the souls of men you destroyed disturb you always. I wish for your family to curse you, for your family to be destroyed even more. I wish you a slow and painful death. May you rot in earth and hell. May the devil accept your soul with delight. You and your kind are a disgrace to humankind. Sierra Leone, keep healing. Amen.
