25 Extremely Upsetting Reactions To Chris Brown At The Grammys
And it’s not what you think.
The reactions are NOT about Brown… well, not really. Rather it seems like a whole lot of ladies WANT Brown to hit them, beat them and punch them in the face. Or rather, that’s how they’re choosing to communicate their love for the singer.
This is a valuable lesson for people who still think the internet is an anonymous place to spew venom, garbage and utter things we’d never say in real life - if you post it, it’s OUT there. With your picture, handle, name and more.
I’m willing to bet these women were trying to be funny. Or looking for attention. Or (insert random, illogical reason here). But whatever the reason, it’s not harmless. Or even remotely entertaining. I’m shocked, disgusted and although I HATE putting people on the spot (I prefer to own my reaction and post something positive, instead of attacking), a little part of me did a fist pump when I saw these tweets exposed.
What you put out in the world says a lot about YOU. Even if you’re posting about someone else. Really, REALLY hope they learn from this and think twice before tweeting such garbage.
Domestic violence is real. It kills people. It’s not something to be made light of. And although I’m of the mindset that people should be given the opportunity to right their wrongs in the future, it does not mean that those wrongs are somehow ‘lessened’ by time. What happened in that car was wrong, was dangerous and will always be that way. How we use it moving forward is a different story and no, we shouldn’t continue to hate Brown because of it (if we remove forgiveness from the table, there’s no incentive for others to try to change their ways either. People can and do change, though only time will tell).
What happened brought much needed attention to domestic violence and started a conversation that needed to be had. Charges were pressed, community service was served, and Rihanna’s forgiven him. He still rubs me the wrong way, and to be honest, I’ll probably never buy his albums. But he paid his debt (at least somewhat), and only time will tell if he’s changed his ways. And if so, that’s another strong message we can learn from: that you can stop the cycle of violence.
But sending the message that violence is OK? That part of his allure IS the violence he committed in the past? That the victim shouldn’t have complained because he’s ‘so fine’? That he’s so hot you WANT him to punch you, beat you, put you in the hospital?
WHAT THE FUCK, LADIES!?!?!? Really? Really??!?! REALLY?!?!
This was truly upsetting. Ladies… c’mon.

He should be shunned. He totally rubs me the wrong way too and I feel the same way (completely baffled) by the girls who are saying they’d let him hit/ beat them. Unbelievable.

Of course these girls don’t advocate domestic violence, but getting beaten up can be a turn on.
